About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Psychologist to join our team at the NSW Rural Fire Service. As a Senior Psychologist, you will play a critical role in delivering state-wide and area-based mental health prevention, promotion, intervention, and recovery services to NSW RFS staff and volunteers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide trauma-informed assessment, formulation, and interventions for people with mild to moderate mental health conditions
  • Implement programs to support better member mental health and wellbeing outcomes
  • Provide psychoeducation and/or mental health and wellbeing content in a group setting
  • Work as an effective team member within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Participate in rostered on-call after-hours duties
Requirements
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in working as an effective team member within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Provision of trauma-informed assessment, formulation, and interventions for people with mild to moderate mental health conditions
  • Applied experience in implementing programs to support better member mental health and wellbeing outcomes
  • Providing psychoeducation and/or mental health and wellbeing content in a group setting
  • Genuine appreciation and understanding of a volunteer-based emergency service
