About the National Film and Sound Archive
NFSA's purpose is to tell the national story in all its rich diversity by collecting, preserving and sharing audiovisual media, the cultural experience platforms of our time.
In 2021, items from the collection were viewed more than 121 million times across the country, making it one of the nation's most vital and utilised cultural resources.
The institution is investing in a comprehensive digital transformation program, during which more of the items in our care will digitised for preservation and, once digitised, become more readily searchable and accessible by all Australians.
A core component of the transformation program will be building national audiences for the collection through improved online services and content offerings that will be brought alive through a compelling, relevant and dynamic institutional voice.
About the People and Culture Team
The People and Culture (P&C) team plays an important operational and strategic role by partnering with leaders across the Agency to achieve the goal of becoming Australia's most dynamic and valued cultural organisation.
The team consists of 1 x EL2, 2 x EL1, 2 x APS 6 1x APS 5 and an APS4 staff members and delivers all elements of human resources to the NFSA including, but not limited to, workforce planning, payroll, learning and development, WHS, wellbeing, recruitment, performance management and HR reporting.
The team is responsible for leading and managing NFSA's current and future workforce, including driving the strategic future growth and culture of the NFSA.
This position may be Non-ongoing or Ongoing
The People and Culture Recruitment Advisor is responsible for leading and supporting end to end recruitment activities, supporting the delivery of the NFSA Induction program and supporting the workforce strategy for the NFSA.
- Leading and/or supporting APS end-to-end recruitment activities including advice on contemporary and best practice recruitment solutions.
- Coordinate and/or support the delivery of the NFSA Induction program to new staff members.
- Support the team in delivering onboarding processes for new starters.
- Communicate effectively and develop and maintain productive working relationships, both internally and externally.
- Actively participate in a variety of projects to achieve results within short timeframes and under pressure in an operational environment.
- Work effectively both with a team and autonomously and contribute to a positive team environment.
- Assist the team to produce team, branch, and strategic outcomes.

Desired Skills and Experience:
Qualifications and/or equivalent experience required:
Experience using recruitment systems and other HR management systems would be an advantage for this position. Sound understanding of APS recruitment processes and legislation.
The assessment process for this position includes:
- A 1000-word pitch and CV demonstrating your experience against the role requirements;
- Interview; and
- Referee checking.
Eligibility
To be eligible for this position you must:
- Be an Australian Citizen;
- Satisfactorily complete an Australian Federal Police National Police Check; and
- Obtain and maintain an Australian Government Baseline Security Clearance.
