The Role


NextSense has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and collaborative Digital and Social Specialist to join our team at our brand new centre for innovation on the Macquarie University campus.

This permanent full-time role reports to the Head of Brand and Marketing and has a real opportunity to build what's next for the NextSense digital platforms.


To be successful in this position, you'll be passionate about continuously improving the website experience for our users, and effectively engaging with and growing our audiences on our social channels.

The role provides a good mix of content, analytics and overseeing technical work to improve functionality.

You'll make a difference in this role by:

  • Managing all NextSense digital marketing platforms, including websites, social channels and ecommerce, and digital platforms for acquisition and fundraising purposes.
  • Leading and delivering against the NextSense social strategy—continuously looking for ways to optimise and grow our channels by advancing the strategy, developing content, scheduling, and reporting.
  • Effectively managing the daytoday operations of the organisation's social scheduling platform, ensuring posts are scheduled and align with the content strategy, and content aligns with best practice for each platform.
  • Taking responsibility for the management, maintenance, and optimisation of the organisation's website to deliver a positive user experience, and to continuously improve its ability to drive lead generation and repeat visits, through content and functionality updates.
  • Developing website reporting and analytics using GA4, measuring against performance benchmarks and digital KPIs.
  • Managing external agency partners to provide technical website support and projects as needed.
  • Develop and execute the organisation's strategy to maximise the effectiveness of the NextSense Google Grant, driving SEO and SEM, working with external agencies as required.
  • Work collaboratively with Marcomms and other areas of the organisation on third party website integrations, and to improve the user experience for their web pages.
  • Knowing and advising on engaging methods for delivering digital content on existing and emerging platforms, ensuring the user experience is at the centre of planning.
  • Work collaboratively and provide advice to colleagues in Marketing and Communications to develop social and website content, suitable for each channel and audience.
  • Work collaboratively with external agencies and within Marketing and Communications to ensure a consistent and effective digital experience from paid campaigns.
  • Actively foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement in the marketing team and more broadly within NextSense.
