The Cairns and Hinterland Mental Health and Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs Service is responsible for delivering Mental Health and Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs Services throughout the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service and for supporting other Mental Health and Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs Services in the Torres and Cape Hospital and Health Service. Its primary objective is to ensure access to a comprehensive range of treatment and support services, clinical treatment, rehabilitation, disability support, as well as early intervention, and mental health prevention and promotion. About you:
In your new role you will......
- Proven ability to utilise and maintain health information computer systems and management of patient records and files.
- Proven ability to provide accurate, timely and high quality confidential administrative services, and an ability to work autonomously and provide services on a HHS-wide or network basis.
- Ability to plan, develop and deliver appropriate training to mental health service staff and staff of other key government agencies and non-government agencies.

In this position you will..... provide authoritative and specialised advice in mental health legislative activities to internal and external stakeholders.
About your role:
- Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with CHHHS values as outlined above.
- Follow defined service quality standards, occupational health and work policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
- In collaboration with the Administrator of the Cairns Authorised Mental Health Service (AMHS) consult, liaise and provide authoritative and specialised expert advice in mental health legislative activities to senior mental health professionals including internal and external stakeholders to ensure the legislative provisions of the Mental Health Act 2016 are implemented and maintained. Perform as the system administrator for the Mental Health Act component of CIMHA for the Cairns AMHS.
