The Role

As a Pricing Actuary, you'll play a pivotal role in conducting technical actuarial rate reviews, managing pricing changes, and ensuring the integrity of our pricing structures. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a solid grasp of statistical modelling techniques.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead end-to-end rate review processes, including data analysis, modelling, implementation, and monitoring.
  • Evaluate alternative data sources and modelling approaches for pricing.
  • Contribute to the development of new pricing strategies and structures.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance and automate the monitoring process.
  • Understand and communicate the expected impact of pricing changes.
  • Prepare and present complex papers for presentation.
  • Manage and/or mentor junior pricing staff.

Knowledge and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the general insurance industry.
  • Actuarial qualification or nearing qualification (Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in statistical modelling techniques and software (e.g., EMBLEM, Radar, Python, R, SAS, SQL).
  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, actuarial studies, or related field (Actuarial qualifications preferred).
