The Swinburne University of Technology Finance team are looking for a Research Finance Officer to join their team.


The Research Finance Officer will be responsible for supporting Research Finance Analysts to deliver a range of quality financial management services.

This will include grants, project budgeting, forecasting, spend management, milestone management and invoice management.

This role will be suited to someone with strong attention to details skills and with an investigative attitude to find errors and work to amend them.


Operating within the University's standards and policies, the incumbent assists both Swinburne Research and the Faculties in achieving their strategic business objectives through the provision of tailored, business focused financial management services with respect to grants and contracts.


About You

To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Problem solving skills, including the ability to interpret data
  • Developed communication skills, including the ability to interact with a diversity of stakeholders
  • Commitment to promote and encourage continuous improvement strategies for the delivery of accurate and timely services to stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail

Qualifications

  • A degree in a relevant discipline with subsequent knowledge and experience within a University environment; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
  • Relevant knowledge, experience and expertise in providing quality finance, accounting and budgetary services, in particular with respect to grants
