About the role


The NSW Department of Education, Catholic Schools NSW and the Association of Independent Schools of NSW recognise the importance of all students having the right right to learn in safe and inclusive school communities.


This shared commitment and responsibility to ensure that all NSW schools are safe, inclusive and positive places for learning, and furthers the aim of a more preventive, student-centred and positive approach to behaviour in schools.

This has resulted in the opportunity to appoint a Chief Behaviour Advisor NSW.


Engaged by NESA and reporting to the School Advisory Council, this important role will support thought leadership around best-practice positive behaviour support in education, partnering with all sectors on best-practice strategies to promote positive learning environments.

The Chief Behaviour Advisor will also encourage the conversation to extend beyond schools, providing resources that schools may share with families to support engaged, and healthy students.


About you
An appreciation for the diversity and breadth of the NSW education context will be key.

With a consultative approach, the appointee will have the credibility, gravitas, and excellent communication skills to work with and advise the SAC and Ministers, providing evidence-based thought leadership and recommendations.

The appointee will also be able to build relationships with a range of community groups and advocates. A strong values base and enthusiasm for providing a positive impact for all students in NSW will be essential.
