About the role:

An exciting, ongoing opportunity to join Box Hill Institute as the Manager - Records & Data Governance.


The Manager - Records & Data Governance leads the development, implementation and ongoing operation of a robust records management function, ensuring that systems, process and capability are in place and operating effectively.

This includes ensuring information is appropriately and easily accessible, stored, distributed, and managed according to organisational and legislative requirements.


Working as a leadership team member of the Governance, Legal, Risk and Audit team, this role will work cross functionally in a collaborative manner with the whole organisation to ensure all BHI employees understand what is required of them to comply with the organisations records management requirements.


You will be involved in the development and review of policies and procedures and provide guidance to Managers to ensure all BHI policies, procedures and processes comply with relevant legislation.

You will be reviewing BHI's records and data governance performance with a focus on uplifting engagement and compliance at the organisational level.


  • This role is based at our Elgar Road, Box Hill campus however is required to travel to other BHI campuses and locations. _

About You:

  • Degree and/or postgraduate qualifications in records management and data governance or similar together with significant and relevant experience
  • A current Victorian Drivers licence
  • Extensive experience in Records Management including experience uplifting organisational capability and building strategy
  • Experience conducting professional audits/investigations, preparing relevant reports, and identifying improvement
  • Sound managerial experience delivering business unit objectives in records and data governance
  • Considerable experience in endtoend project management including scoping, implementation and transition to BAU
  • Experienced in building strategic and sustainable relationships; demonstrated expertise in effectively engaging stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes
  • Ability to identify and resolve complex and often competing needs; effective and diplomatic management of conflict and alignment of perspectives to achieve common goals
  • High levels of analytical and conceptual thinking to problem solve strategic and operational issues.
