About the role

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role is responsible for the planning and scheduling of asset maintenance tasks, managing workorder backlogs, maintaining master data integrity, and accountable for the KPIs associated with the efficiency and effectiveness of work order execution.

This role will suit a self-motivated individual who can drive a planning performance improvement, has demonstrated experiences in maintenance planning and scheduling roles preferably within a heavy industry environment and can lead a team of maintenance coordinators.

The successful candidate will join a team of dedicated superintendents within the Engineering department, ensuring that the operational equipment requirements meet and exceed the expectations of our customers.

Key accountabilities will include


• Ensuring safe work practices are employed for all tasks.

• KPIs such as PM compliance, scheduled compliance, backlog reduction.

• Responsible for planning and scheduling of daily and weekly maintenance tasks.

• Responsible for coordinating plant outages with the operations team.

• Maintain Job Plans and attached procedures for planned tasks.

• Compliance to the maintenance budget for all equipment.

• Development of people through leadership and coaching to achieve effective outcomes.

• Actively promote and be involved with Management of Change and continuous improvement techniques.

• Maintain harmonious industrial relations by encouraging employee participation through a regular consultative framework.

Experience, skills and qualifications

The successful candidate will have the following experience, skills and qualifications:


• Minimum 5 years in a planning and scheduling role within heavy industry maintenance

• Demonstrated experience in computerised maintenance management systems (Maximo preferred).

• Demonstrated maintenance planning and work priority management skills.

• Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement relating to maintenance management techniques.

• Demonstrated ability to achieve results and work effectively in a demanding environment.

• Knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety and Environmental regulations and policies

• Well-developed leadership and effective communication skills.

• Mechanical or Electrical trades certificate with relevant post-trade qualifications. (Preferable)
