Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your maintenance expertise in a new cutting-edge field. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will primarily be responsible for the maintenance and repair of the Rolling Stock and its associated equipment based at the Lilyfield Sydney Light Rail Depot. This role will require you to particpate in a rotating shift roster (4 weeks of Mon - Fri 6am - 2pm, then 4 weeks of Sun - Thurs 2pm - 10pm) . We'll look to you for:

  • Regularly performing wheel changes for the light rail vehicles (very physical task).
  • Carrying out routine examinations, fault finding, interrogation and diagnostic testing on tram equipment installed on Sydney Light Rail Vehicles (LRV) sub-systems.
  • Actively maintaining and repairing tram equipment installed on LRVs.
  • Following all established safety procedures and utilising safety equipment as required.
  • Reporting on activities, problems found and measures taken.
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders and understanding as well as implementing quality control mesaures.

  • Experience within Rail/Rolling Stock or similar industry preferred, but not essential.
  • Certificate III Engineering (Mechaincal Trade).
