SUMMARY :
The Corporate Safety Director will develop, coordinate, and implement occupational health policies and procedures to promote and ensure effective safety operations in the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborates with management to develop, prepare, and implement safety policies and proceduresEnsures compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rulesEnsures completion of required OSHA recordkeeping and reportingShare knowledge and best practices with divisional safety teamsAssist with daily safety related questions and issues from the fieldMentor the divisional safety managers to enable them to achieve a high level of proficiency of independence within their own safety programCreate an environment of learning, mentoring and empowerment in order to promote employee engagementWorks closely with VP of Safety & Risk as well as Fleet Manager to support fleet policies and procedures, including metrics, education and systemsStops operations and activities that could harm employees or equipmentIdentifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problemsConducts employee training on applicable safety standardsReviews safety training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updatesConducts safety inspections and audits to assess employee compliance with safety regulationsUtilizes the RIMS and SMS platform in place.
Reviews accident and incident reportsCollaborates with VP of Safety & Risk on Safety Summit ideas and coordination of eventsPerforms other related duties as assignedEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and
SKILLS:
Extensive knowledge of current company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standardsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to conduct trainingExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailStrong supervisory and leadership skillsProficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related softwareMinimum of 10 years of safety experience, with at least three years in the construction industryExperience conducting OSHA investigations including drafting responses and appropriate documentationValid driver's license required
PREFERRED QUALIFICTIONS:
OSHA 500 certificationBachelor's degree in occupational safety, safety management in construction or related field
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computerMust be able to lift up to 15 pounds at timesAbility to travel to various divisions and worksites as needed (travel will be approximately 50%)
