Chief Executive
South Australia is known as one of the 11 Great Wine regions of the world.

Beginning in 1840, the South Australian Wine Industry Association (SAWIA) has been leading, lobbying and advocating for the SA wine industry, which today exports over $1.43 billion in wine.

SAWIA is the peak body representing the viticultural and winemaking interests of the state.

SAWIA's core functions are to provide leadership, advice and support to South Australian grape and wine businesses, assisting them to prosper within a dynamic, diverse industry.

SAWIA is looking for a new dynamic Chief Executive (CE).

Reporting through the President to the Executive Committee, the CE will be responsible for leading SAWIA, providing strategic leadership and ensuring the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the organisation, as well as carrying out strategic initiatives as determined by SAWIA.

This role is responsible for the overall management of SAWIA's resources and activities, which are implemented to achieve its business goals with optimal effectiveness and efficiency.


The CE will manage multiple relationships and communications with members, the community, Government leaders and agencies, educational providers, the media and the public.

As a leader for the industry the CE will be tasked with growing SAWIA's membership base and its products and services, while guiding and directing the profitable operation of the National Wine Education & Training Centre.


Along with relevant degree level qualifications, you will have a demonstrated commitment to the principles of good corporate governance and have strong leadership attributes with an ability to see beyond the immediate for future opportunities for SAWIA and its members.
