We are looking for service-focused and motivated individuals to join our team at The Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA).

At DVA we support serving and ex-serving members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and families through the administration, management and assessment of claims for compensation, as well as access to Non-Liability Health Care and the Veteran Recognition package.

We work with the veteran community and other Government agencies to deliver high quality service to veterans and families.

The key duties of the position include:
The role of a Delegate is to assist eligible veterans to access compensation, health and other care services that promote and maintain self-sufficiency, well-being and quality of life

You will:

  • Assist members of the veteran community (DVA clients) to access DVA programs.
  • Make wellreasoned decisions for compensation claims using relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Provide advice and guidance to DVA clients to access the right supports and services at the right time.
  • Identify risk to client wellbeing and refer to the appropriate support areas within the Department.
  • Participate in case conferencing with internal health professionals.
  • Monitor and manage external provider progress, including heath providers.
  • Work with business areas within DVA, the ADF, Ex-Service Organisations and Government agencies to achieve our business objectives.
  • Work across a range of DVA systems in line with relevant policy and procedural guidelines.
  • Contribute to the development of a cohesive and supportive team environment.

Notes
A merit pool will be established that may be used to fill similar positions within the next 18 months.

Interviews for this opportunity will take place in May 2023, with a start date towards the end of June 2023 for successful applicants.

Non-ongoing positions will be offered for a period of up to 12 months with the possibility of extension.
