THE DEPARTMENT
The Planning and Partnerships team provide consultancy, guidance and project management for service planning, health system design projects and corporate social responsibility portfolios:

  • Organisation-wide health service planning
  • Program, unit or functional area service planning
  • Assist in identifying longterm strategic directions for a clinical service, program or disease/patient group
  • Determine role delineation and capability of clinical services
  • Development of strategy and operational plans to achieve strategic goals
  • Development of functional models to inform operational structures and systems
  • Business Planning linking clinical and corporate functions (cross organisation connection)
  • Development of business cases, service plans and operational plans that may inform facility/capital requirements
  • Project Management of organisationwide projects, including corporate, operational and capital projects
  • Corporate Social responsibility portfolios of Population Health and Environmental Sustainability
  • Partnerships across the health system to facilitate high quality, patient centred care
***The Manager, Health Service Planning, is a senior leadership role at Alfred Health, one of Victoria's largest and most complex public health services. The role is outward facing, engaging with senior clinical leaders, the Alfred Health Executive, and with our partner organisations across Victoria.

As a senior leader within the organisation, the postholder will deputise for the Director, Planning and Partnerships as required


The Manager, Health Service Planning leads the service planning team and is responsible for managing the development and delivery of strategic, service planning and service development projects, as well as the planning and commissioning of capital projects across Alfred Health to ensure effective processes are in place to successfully develop new services, facilities and technologies.


The role works with the Director, Planning and Partnerships and across the organisation's functions and structure to ensure strategic, service and business planning projects are aligned with the organisation's strategic priorities.


QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant business or health discipline
  • Experience of understanding of service planning in a healthcare context
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience in managing projects and change processes
  • A comprehensive understanding of health services, the wider health landscape and service delivery objectives
  • A record of achievement in delivering services in accordance with the stated performance objectives of a complex organisation involved in health care.
  • Capacity to work with stakeholders including patients, staff and the community to ensure the continued delivery of safe and highquality services.
