ABOUT THE ROLE:

  • Permanent full time position available
  • Registered Psychiatric Nurse 5, Chief Grade 3 Social Worker/Occupational Therapist, Psychologist Grade
  • Based at Werribee Mercy Hospital
  • Operational responsibility for the Emergency Mental Health Service
  • Play a key role in service development
  • Ensure delivery of effective evidence based, person centered care
  • Lead and manage a team of both experienced and newly qualified staff

ABOUT YOU:

  • Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse with successful completion of a specialist undergraduate psychiatric nursing program or a Post graduate Psychiatric/mental health nursing qualification, or
  • An approved degree in Psychology and registration with AHPRA as a Psychologist with endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist, or
  • Registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist, or
  • Recognised degree Social Work and eligibility for the Australian Association of Social Workers
  • Previous experience in a leadership role essential
  • Demonstrated clinical competency in mental status and risk assessment and the ability to priorities workload and coordinate clinical care with other services providers
  • Excellent communication and liaison skills, as interaction with consumers and other staff is a key part of this role
  • Ability to manage and lead others from a range of disciplines
  • Have a passion for mental health care

  • Mercy Mental Health (South West Area Mental Health Service) is a public mental health service supporting people in south west metropolitan Melbourne with severe and complex mental illnesses by providing acute and communitybased care. Services are available to adults through acute inpatient programs, residential rehabilitation programs and crisis and community recoveryfocused treatment programs. We also deliver inpatient and community specialist perinatal mental health services to women and infants in western Victoria.
