The Department of Education is the largest provider of public education in Australia with responsibility for delivering high-quality public education to two-thirds of the NSW student population.
About the Team
Training Market Design is responsible for training market design and management and has a strong focus on improving outcomes for students and employers, in particular disadvantaged students.
Training Market Design is responsible for a broad reform agenda that aims to improve the functioning of the NSW training market.
The team also plays a role in shaping broader NSW skills policy and national agendas to reform the training sector.
About the role
The role manages two projects related to skills prioritization and consumer products.
One is the management of the NSW Skills List including research and policy decisions to prioritise the list to address skills gaps.
The second is leading the development of the Skills Compare website to enhance consumer information.Essential requirements of the role
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education
Key knowledge and experience
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
