Our client

We are proud to represent one of our longest standing clients, a respected brokerage with strengths in SME, Mid-Market and Specialty Segments. This is an established brokerage with superb operational support to unload to burden and grind of administration, freeing you up to spend more time with clients and prospects. Right now, we have a search underway for the next generation of broker capable of contributing to the on-going success of their business.

The role

We are seeking an accomplished Broker with strong Business Development skills to join the Melbourne team. This high performing team works meticulously well in a supportive and collaborative environment to consistently exceed internal and external expectations. This is a role that provides succession planning and equity opportunity and as such expectations of the role include the identification and acquisition of new clients.

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Create, build and execute a strategic sales plan to meet and exceed targets.
  • Develop new relationships to increase quote traffic, win new business and increase products per policy ratio by cross selling.
  • Co-ordinate internal sales activity and provide referrals to the team if beyond your capacity.
  • Manage a portfolio of SME and Mid-Market accounts.
  • Keep abreast, monitor and report on competitor activity.
  • Build a strong individual and company profile.
  • There may be the opportunity to leadership duties based upon experience/interest.

Your Details:

  • Prior successful employment in a relationship-based sales roles within the Insurance industry and thorough understanding of the General Insurance market.
  • Previous experience in driving new business in a brokerage is essential.
  • Possess sales leadership and mentoring capabilities.
  • Proven track record in prior BDM role.
  • Superior client management skills.
  • Strong technical broking expertise.
  • Awareness of markets for hard to place risks.
