The Opportunity:

We are excited to be partnering with a well-known retail company in the Eastern Suburbs that puts a strong emphasis on community. They are in search of a skilled Communications Specialist from the Retail/FMCG sector to join their team. Initially, this role will be a full-time 6-month contract with a high possibility of extension. The compensation offered goes up to $700 per working day, inclusive of superannuation.

As the Communications Specialist, your main goal will be to shape the company's internal story and promote a cohesive and well-informed workplace environment, ensuring all communication is engaging, informative, and easy to access.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute internal communication strategies to boost employee engagement and collaboration.
  • Create a weekly newsletter and a bi-weekly operations pack, ensuring that the content is not only informative but also aligns with the company's core values.
  • Generate and select content for various platforms like intranet, email, social media, and webinars.
  • Leverage Microsoft 365 to its maximum capacity for communication and collaboration needs.
  • Produce visually appealing content using Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly focusing on InDesign, to support communication projects.
  • Utilize Staffbase for optimizing internal communications and enhancing the overall employee experience.
  • Collaborate closely with different departments to gather information and transform it into clear, concise, and engaging content for all employees.
  • Track and evaluate the efficiency of internal communications, making informed suggestions for enhancement based on data.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and top practices in internal communications to consistently innovate and enhance our communication strategies.

Desired Skills & Expertise:

  • Hold a degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field, or have relevant hands-on experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in internal communications within the retail or FMCG sector is essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 functionalities.
  • Strong command of Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically InDesign.
  • Experience with Staffbase or similar platforms for employee communication is highly preferred.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities, capable of creating content for diverse audiences.
  • Skilled at managing multiple projects concurrently, paying close attention to detail and deadlines.
  • A creative mindset that can simplify complex information into engaging content.
  • A team player with a collaborative approach, yet capable of working independently when needed.
