We're thrilled to offer an enticing opportunity for a Transmission Lines Engineer to be at the forefront of shaping the energy landscape of tomorrow.

In this role, you will provide essential engineering and technical support to our Development & Future Network teams, contributing to Business Development, Deal Execution, Preliminary Works, Project Delivery, and Operation and Maintenance.

Participate in exciting projects, tackle technical hurdles, and contribute to the construction and upkeep of state-of-the-art infrastructure.

Your expertise in transmission lines will drive innovative solutions, positioning AusNet Services/D&FN as the preferred energy partner for pioneers and leaders in renewable energy.

Based in Melbourne with a 3/2 Hybrid split, this role is a vital part of the Lines team.

This position will bring tangible outcomes, such as:

  • Provide technical, commercial, and design support to stakeholders, aiding AusNet's advancement in the energy transition.
  • Develop concept, tender, and detailed designs of transmission lines.
  • Design lines utilizing PLS-CADD, and model structures with PLS-POLE and TOWER.
  • Create foundation designs and establish scopes and specifications for design and construction.
  • Support project activities including estimating, design reviews, tender evaluation, site visits, and inspections.
  • Aid in maintaining modern engineering standards to ensure network compliance with legal, technical, regulatory, and safety obligations, while meeting growth targets.

You don't have to tick every box, but we value a solid combination of:

  • A Tertiary Qualification in civil or structural engineering
  • Demonstrated industry experience, showcasing the ability to deliver high-quality technical design output for successful project completion
  • Basic knowledge of transmission line design is highly desirable
  • Proficiency in PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, TOWER, and AutoCAD software is highly preferred
  • Capability to work independently, problem-solve effectively, and demonstrate initiative
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and convey technical ideas to non-technical individuals
  • Excellent organizational skills, adept at managing multiple tasks, setting priorities, handling timeframes, and meeting deadlines under pressure
