Job Overview:
As a APS5 Senior Finance Officer, you'll lead in processing complex FOI requests, offer expert advice on FOI legislation, and manage a team. Your duties include managing work-flows, advising internal stakeholders, and enhancing organisational practices.

Level: APS5
Location: Multiple Locations (Adelaide SA, Canberra ACT, Newcastle NSW, Sydney NSW)
Contract Duration: 3 Months + Possibility of 3 Months extension.
Requirements:

  • Baseline clearance
  • Selection criteria response

Key Duties/Tasks:

  • Process complex FOI requests efficiently and accurately.
  • Lead and manage a team of FOI professionals, providing guidance and support.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure adherence to legislative requirements and organisational standards.
  • Offer expert advice on FOI matters to network staff and stakeholders.
  • Assist in the development and enhancement of agency policies and procedures related to FOI.
  • Prepare submissions to regulatory bodies, such as the Information Commissioner
  • Contribute to strategic projects and initiatives aimed at improving FOI processes and practices.

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement and initiative in decision-making.
  • Proficiency in managing a high volume of FOI matters while meeting legislative requirements.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Qualifications and Experience:

While formal qualifications are not mandatory, experience in a similar role, particularly as an FOI decision maker, would be advantageous. Demonstrated knowledge of FOI legislation, policies, and procedures is highly desirable.
