A Day in the Life of an Aboriginal Student Support Officer.

The Aboriginal Student Support Officer plays a vital role in supporting students enrolled on campuses within the Western Sydney Region.

You will support Aboriginal students in achieving successful outcomes by engaging effectively with students, communities, and other relevant stakeholders; monitoring and supporting students; identifying student needs, and making appropriate referrals.

We have 2 rewarding opportunities where you can make a real difference in the lives of students and your communities.

Join our team on a full-time temporary basis until December 2023 with the possibility of extension, located at our TAFE Blacktown and Campbelltown campuses.


About You
You will have strong communication skills and demonstrated experience in building relationships.

Bring your experience of collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to planning and implementing strategies to ensure all touchpoints of the student journey are culturally appropriate; address the non-educational and educational barriers to success and.include both pathways to employment and or further education.

Being resilient and flexible you are comfortable with constructively managing conflict, and mediating and you manage issues with sensitivity and confidentiality.

You have demonstrated ability in using Office 365 and a strong background in administration (highly desirable within the education sector).

Crucially, you are someone who shares the TAFE NSW Values of Integrity, Collaboration, Excellence, and Customer First.
