A rare opportunity exists for Manager, Workplace OH&S to join a newly formed team tasked with establishing the new Department of Government Services.
About us The Department of Government Services (DGS) was established on 1 January 2023 to improve everyone's experience of doing business and interacting with the Victorian government.
We bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses.We are doing this by connecting and digitising our systems and platforms across state and local government as well as streamlining our corporate and procurement services.
About the role The Manager, Workplace OH&S will be responsible for establishing and leading the department's OH&S and wellbeing policies and procedures, including establishing contracts for OH&S and wellbeing services that may need to be put in place.
About youTo be considered for the role, you must be able to demonstrate:
- Driving and delivering a safety culture within the new Department of Government Service.
- Experience in applyinglegislation, developing organisation policies and procedures and contemporary developments in health, safety and wellbeing, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 201
- The ability to provide succinct and clear expert advice to stakeholders on a range of employment, change management, and health and safety matters, using a range of strategies to engage and communicate.

Other relevant information
The department is committed to providing and maintaining a working environment which is safe and without risk to the health of its employees and clients and consistent with the department's obligations under the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 (OHS Act).
To support this, DGS requires all DGS employees be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to undertake duties outside of their homes (unless an exception applies).
To be able to meet the COVID-19 mandatory vaccination requirements and for DGS to meet its obligations under the OHS Act, DGS will request employees provide their vaccination information (including 3rd dose / booster) or evidence of an exemption throughout the recruitment process.
Inability to provide this may impact your subsequent employment to the department.-
