About the role:


As part of our commitment and intention to nurture social justice and meaningful reconciliation with First Nations peoples, for the benefit of the whole community, the Reconciliation Action Plan Lead will provide mentoring, leadership, support and management to staff and volunteers and coordinate the implementation of the Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) for BaptisCare.


Reporting to the Sustainability Manager, you will work closely with the Reconciliation Action Plan Co-Chairs, RAP Working Group, and stakeholders to lead, contribute and monitor the implementation of the RAP.

You will be key in evolving cultural awareness and safety within the organisation.

You will be responsible for playing a leading role in engaging employees and stakeholders, building relationships and drafting and gaining endorsement for the Reflect RAP.


What you will bring to the role:

  • Knowledge and understanding, including deep lived experience of the historical and contemporary issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
  • Relevant experience supporting reconciliation action and initiatives, fostering cultural safety and nurturing relationships
  • Demonstrated passion and commitment to reconciliation
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in areas reconciliation and cultural safety
  • Demonstrated presentation and public speaking skills
  • Experience and expertise in developing relationships with major donors/stakeholders and crafting and implementing major donor strategies and communication plans.
  • Current Driver's Licence
  • Genuine alignment to BaptistCare's vision, purpose and values.
