About the Role
***The Construction and Mining Services team work to ensure compliance by providing advice on right of entry laws for union officials, industrial relations matters throughout the lifecycle of major projects, support in agreement making, as well as providing training to supervisors and managers on ER/IR matters.
This position is available on a
full-time, permanent basis initially based in Perth CBD with the expectation to move to a site-based role on a Fly In Fly Out basis.
This is a rare opportunity to work in a unique ER/IR environment where you will be able to develop your knowledge and skills as well as being exposed to complex projects.
As an Employee Relations Consultant, you will work in a fast-paced and influential team of passionate professionals who help drive the success of large construction projects.
You will be providing high quality and accurate employee relations advocacy and consulting services to members, clients and contractors.The responsibilities of the role include:
- Providing accurate and timely written and verbal HR/IR advice and guidance to CCIWA members, contractors and clients.
- Engaging with a range of stakeholders to promote new business opportunities for the Construction and Mining Services operations.
- Actively promoting CCIWA membership and any relevant CCIWA services/products to members.
- Drafting agreements, contracts of employment and workplace policies and assisting employers develop and implement strategies to improve their HR/IR outcomes.
- Representing employers on site.
- Designing and delivering employee relations training.
- Forming relationships with CCIWA members, contractors and clients.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will also have:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in IR, HR, Law or equivalent working experience.
- A proactive approach and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- The ability to build constructive relationships with a range of stakeholders.
- Strong working knowledge of the Fair Work Act and other IR/ER legislation.
- Ability to handle complex issues and provide practical solutions.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Able to manage conflict and aggressive situations calmly and maintain working relationships.
- National Police Clearance and Drivers Licence.
