The Role

The Professional Services Consultant will be responsible for overseeing implementations and consultative engagements for the Proofpoint Information Protection Platform as well as third-party DLP solutions. This individual will play a key role in developing new services, implementing best practices, and supporting customer escalations when necessary. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in ensuring successful service delivery and customer satisfaction. Proofpoint's Consultants are experts in service delivery who effectively align client business objectives with data protection strategies. By leveraging their knowledge of information security models, best practices, and operational strategies, our Consultants help reduce clients' security risks by aligning technology with organizational processes and resources.

This position involves delivering innovative ideas and solutions that yield tangible results. It is a critical and prominent role, providing support to some of Proofpoint's top accounts. The Consultant must be adept at collaborating with technical resources, analysts, project sponsors, and executives to deliver exceptional service and communication, including managing product deliverables, hosting conference calls/meetings, facilitating process reviews/workshops, and providing briefings. The role requires the ability to work with non-technical managers and executives to define technical and business requirements for their company's customized data security program.
This position is open to candidates in any location within Australia.

Your day-to-day

  • Thoroughly assess client operations and business processes to scope engagements, gather key requirements, and make optimization recommendations for Proofpoint technologies.
  • Offer solutions that help clients identify, protect, monitor, and manage their most sensitive data and personnel.
  • Collaborate with Professional Services, Support, Engineering, and Product teams to address customer concerns and handle escalations.
  • Coordinate closely with the sales team to ensure customer needs are addressed and satisfaction remains high.
  • Provide management with updates highlighting risks, challenges, and suggested solutions.

What you bring to the team

  • Minimum of 3 years of consulting experience, preferably with a focus on Data Loss Prevention, Endpoint Security, or Cloud Security.
  • Experience with Windows Server and web infrastructure (IIS, MS SQL) is desirable.
  • Background in Linux infrastructure is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft or Symantec DLP is preferred.
  • Strong ability to articulate concepts in documentation and deliverables.
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience in defining, implementing, and maintaining consulting best practices.
  • Client service orientation, with a confident and effective in-person and virtual presence.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with the capability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
