As their project pipeline continues to flourish, we seek a Project Director to join their Energy team.

About the Role:

This role assumes responsibility for steering project teams and spearheading the identification of potential opportunities and challenges pertaining to asset mergers and acquisitions. Your role encompasses:

  • Leading the strategic planning and execution of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activities within the energy and utilities sector, leveraging our company's strategic position and market strength.
  • Conducting comprehensive due diligence on potential M&A targets, assessing their technical, commercial, and financial viability.
  • Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders to evaluate potential opportunities and constraints related to asset or project investment decisions.
  • Providing strategic input and analysis throughout the M&A process, ensuring alignment with our company's long-term objectives and sustainability goals.
  • Playing a key role in negotiating and structuring M&A transactions, ensuring favourable terms and conditions for our company.
  • Overseeing post-acquisition integration activities, ensuring seamless transition and alignment with the company's operations and culture.

About You:

To thrive in this role, you will possess:

  • Experience in mergers and acquisitions within the energy and utilities sector, with a proven track record of successfully executing complex transactions.
  • Deep knowledge of the Australian renewable energy market and regulatory landscape, ideally with recent involvement in the National Electricity Market (NEM).
  • Strong analytical skills and sound business judgment to assess M&A opportunities and navigate potential risks and challenges.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A strategic mindset and the ability to think creatively to identify and capitalize on market opportunities.
