The Australian Open will be back in full swing this summer and we're looking for a Catering Operations Coordinator to join our team on a fixed term contract from October 2023 until February 2024.
As this is a seasonal contract, we request full availability and flexibility across the summer months of December-February.About the role
Reporting to the Premium Experience - Food & Events Manager, in this role you will support the set
- up, operations and successful end
- to-end delivery of Catering across Australian Open event locations. This role will work closely with the Tournament & Player team and the Commercial Catering Manager to facilitate catering planning and execution.
- Represent Product Operations in all AO Project working Groups, by location, specifically Ballpark, Court 3 precinct, Grand Slam Oval, Birraraung Marr and all other nonpermanent kitchen restaurant set ups
- Work with Catering Operations Lead to coordinate costs and budgets for each location
- Ensure constant operational support throughout both the preevent planning of restaurant spaces and during the tournament
- Arrange all event operational requirements for kitchens with site team
- Work directly with the Catering Lead to facilitate catering requirements in Player and Workforce spaces
- Coordinate kitchen requirements from all precincts based food vendors for our infrastructure team
- Daily AM briefings covering attendance, projected numbers, schedule and highlights within our team and contacts
- Key liaison with all food vendors for daily delivery schedules and MDS management
- What you will bring to the role:_
- A minimum of three years working in large scale catering or major events
- A strong understanding and background within the food and hospitality industry
- A thorough awareness of major sporting event operations and what is required to deliver F&B operations during an event, front and back of house
- High degree of competence with Microsoft Outlook and Excel
- Well established organisation skills with strong attention to detail
- Understanding of commercial operations within a complex organisation; and
- Tertiary Qualifications in Hospitality Operations and/or Event Management (preferred)
- Construction Induction Card
- You must hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check
