About the opportunity:


Working closely with the Chief People Officer the Employee Relations Consultant/Lead has been created to enable culture, develop people capability, lead the design and implementation of HR projects, and provide employee relation advice to Compassion's leaders across Australia.


This role comes with the opportunity to make your mark on how Compassion approaches ER, focusing on doing the right thing at the right time.

You can showcase your expertise and set up the systems to build ER and IR knowledge and capability for our new and emerging leaders, staying up to date in the evolution of IR regulatory environment, and bring this knowledge back to Compassion in a practical and digestible way.


Desired experience we are seeking:

  • Proven ability to design and deliver integrated people & culture solutions
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills, including excellence in relationship building, the ability to liaise and influence at all levels, ability to be open and flexible, good at consultation, negotiation, and conflict resolution both internally and externally
  • Ability to effectively lead projects across the organisation
  • In depth knowledge and experience of operationalising strategy and operations in human resources, organisational development, and culture in complex organisations.
  • A good working knowledge of the complexity of Christian organisations and/or not for profit organisations as they relate to people and culture.
  • Solid experience in employment law, awards, employment contracts as well as remuneration frameworks, approaches, methodologies.
  • Relevant post graduate qualification in Human Resources, Organisational Development or other relevant discipline highly desirable.
