An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Graduate to join SLR's Environmental Assessment & Management team in Newcastle.



The role will provide you with technical development day to day, while also providing the opportunity to be part of a structured learning program. It is intended that the graduate roles would commence in early 2023 as part of SLR's industry leading graduate program upon completion of your university studies. There is however an opportunity for successful applicants to initially commence in a paid part-time intern role around your study commitments prior to graduation.

Key Responsibilities

Job tasks and responsibilities

  • As part of a growing team in SLR, you will be responsible for carrying out services that range in assisting with preparing tenders and proposals, provide advice to clients and colleagues and working in a combination of office based and fieldwork activities. You will be supported by senior consultants to develop detailed knowledge and understanding of geotechnical methods and techniques to solve complex problems.
  • Our office is heavily involved in environmental impact assessment, post approvals management and environmental auditing across a wide range of sectors.
    Skills & Experience
  • A professional qualification in environmental science or other relevant degree
  • Previous experience working in an environmental role (e.g., obtained as part of your degree or work experience that you have sought out yourself)
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills, and fluency in written and spoken English
  • Demonstrated initiative and capability to work independently as well as working well within a team environment
  • Australia Citizenship or rights to work in Australia
