P&C Manager - Greenfield

With expertise covering planning, design, construction management, and delivery, this organization – established nearly 40 years ago – has carved out a unique niche in turnkey commercial and industrial building project solutions.

Having transitioned to a new and positive organizational structure, they are now focused on sustaining growth while enhancing culture and capability through the appointment of their first P&C Manager.

As the P&C Manager, you will report to the CEO and play a key role in leading the People function as well as driving operational HR best practices to support business objectives. You will collaborate closely with the Executive/Senior Leadership team in developing and implementing the people program – ensuring enduring engagement in their national SME setting.

About the role:

  • Operating in a predominantly greenfield environment, the P&C Manager will be actively involved in operational delivery and shaping broader culture, talent, and people-focused initiatives.
  • The P&C Manager will emphasize coaching, advising, and guiding leaders on best practices and capacity building.
  • You will design the P&C roadmap – involving the senior leadership team and wider business in identifying priorities and establishing relevant, aligned objectives.

This SME, with fewer than 200 employees nationally, aims to achieve sustainable and strategic growth while upholding their commercial specialization and nurturing a strong, relationship-driven, and family-oriented culture. The P&C Manager serves as the gateway to the forthcoming growth phase and will have the freedom to spearhead an impactful HR program and contribute significantly to the ongoing evolution of a company that prioritizes the wellbeing of its employees above all else.

About you:

Engaging across all business levels and sectors, you will support and lead the establishment of a high-quality P&C function that aligns with long-term growth objectives. You will relish the hands-on aspects of the role, yet also engage with key stakeholders in strategically executing HR programs. Desired qualifications include:

  • A robust generalist HR skill set with prior experience spanning strategic and operational P&C delivery. Experience in both blue and white collar environments is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to offer guidance, coaching, and influence to Executive and Senior Leadership teams.
  • Proficiency in leading operational HR as both functional lead and in project management and planning throughout the employee lifecycle.

This presents an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR Business Partner to transition into an HR Manager position and advance their career in line with the company's growth and evolution.

The role is situated in Hawthorn, set to relocate to new, purpose-built headquarters in Kew by the end of 2024.
