An exciting opportunity exists for qualified Allied Health Assistants to join the team at Epworth Hospital Geelong on a casual basis.

We are seeking casual staff to provide cover for planned and unplanned leave on week days and occasional Saturday work is available.


The Allied Health Assistant works alongside the Allied Health Professionals to support clinicians and patients in a broad range of clinical and administrative tasks.

The role provides for great variation in your day and can include supporting the Occupational Therapists with tasks such as breakfast group and the delivery of individualised cognitive and movement programs and the Physiotherapists with exercise and mobility programs as well as hydrotherapy.

With training, the AHA may also provide support for the Exercise Physiology, Speech Pathology and Dietetics clinical programs.

You will make an impact by:

  • Collaborating with team members and patients to create an exceptional patient experience
  • Assisting in the delivery of therapy programs across the range of allied health disciplines in the acute care setting, inpatient rehabilitation and outpatient rehabilitation
  • Providing a high standard of patient care
  • Ensuring patient wellbeing and safety
  • Assisting patients in attainment of therapy goals and prevention of functional decline

  • Demonstrate attention to detail in all aspects of work
  • Enjoy assisting patients in their recovery from injury or illness

Qualifications:

  • Certificate IV Allied Health Assistance qualification or equivalent is essential and/or completing another relevant university qualification (eg student in an Allied Health Discipline)
  • Previous experience as an Allied Health Assistant within rehabilitation or a hospital setting is desirable
