In this role, you will impact the lives of all Australians by supporting an open, free, secure, and global internet, while working on Australia's digital transformation and the development of innovative technology policy.


Reporting directly to the Internet Governance and Policy Director, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing insight into domestic internet and technology policy, developing positions and working with stakeholders.
  • Identify policy issues and solutions related to technology, the internet and the digital economy that are relevant opportunities or obstacles company's strategy.
  • Research issues and prepare briefs or other internal documents as required.
  • Liaise and coordinate with policy team members and other business units across the organisation on policy and operational issues, to maintain awareness of the organisation's objectives and ensure it is informed about relevant issues.
  • Build collaborative working relationships internally, and externally with government departments and with agreed external stakeholders domestically (and sometimes internationally), to help effectively achieve auDA strategic goals and objectives.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification/s (e.g. public policy, economics, law) or relevant industry or government experience.
  • Proven experience in tracking the technology policy agenda In Australia.
  • Expertise in public policy analysis techniques and methods applicable to technology, digital transformation, and internet policy environments.
  • Proven successful experience in providing policy advice.
  • A record of successfully working with, learning from and persuading external stakeholders to act in line with your advice and thinking.
