Reporting to the Manager, Fund Policy, the Policy Advisor is responsible for administering the Medibank and ahm Fund Rules, associated fund policies and supporting collateral, to ensure that they support the needs of the business and are clear, consistent and customer centric.
Your Impact
In this position you will conduct research and analysis on Fund Policy matters and generate innovative solutions to business problems in the context of the Fund Rules and Policies. You will advise different parts of Medibank on the application of the Fund Rules and policies, to enable and support business initiatives.
About You
You are an excellent communicator, with the ability to ability to translate complex concepts and advice into plain English for a range of audiences. You have experience in the interpretation and application of legislation, legal principals and policies and can demonstrate the ability to translate regulation and complex concepts into practically applied policy and procedure. You will also have:
- Analytical and research skills including a proven ability to identify and analyse options to address a business problem and recommend a preferred approach.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with a range of internal stakeholders to build 'buy in' and achieve desired outcomes.
- High attention to detail and industry knowledge
- Skill in planning, organising and managing high workload and conflicting priorities.
- Knowledge and understanding of the private health insurance legislative framework that a private health insurer must operate in, or ability to quickly acquire this knowledge is highly desirable.
What we see your BAU as:
- Providing expert and timely advice to other business units regarding the interpretation and application of Medibank and ahm's fund rules, associated fund policies and private health insurance legislation.
- Ensuring Medibank's fund rules and policies enable positive customer experiences, are consistently understood and applied by frontline employees, comply with all regulatory requirements and also protect the business's commercial interests.
- Supporting the design and development of new health insurance products and programs through timely and clear advice on the application of the fund rules and associated fund policies.
- Conducting reviews and providing approval for all customer-facing information and collateral including cover summaries, sales brochures, website content, letters and other member communications.
- Identifying opportunities to enhance the customer experience and support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives through our fund rules and policies.
- Guiding the business through regulatory changes which impact the design and functionality of our health insurance products.
