SC2 High level understanding and use of office systems, software or technical equipment as relevant to the position including Microsoft Windows, Compass and Google systems.

SC3 Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to seek direction from Leadership when required.

SC4 Demonstrated ability to lead, work independently and as part of a team, including working cooperatively with the wider school community.

SC5 Demonstrated commitment to professional learning and capacity to adhere to Department of Education policies and procedures relating to ICT practices in schools.

Role This position will attract 4 weeks annual leave.

Range 4 is distinguished by broader management responsibility, particularly in the areas of finance, human resource and other support functions.

Range 4 is responsible for managing a range of functions under a wide range of conditions, subject to the size and complexity of school operations.

Objectives will, generally, be clearly defined; guidelines will be broad and day-to-day direction minimal.
Management responsibility extends to ensuring appropriate support levels are maintained across the school.

Range 4 generally provides key support and timely advice to the leadership team and school council and liaises with the general school community, the Department and other government agencies and service providers.

Specialised professional roles will carry a high level of independence and accountability where suitable scope is provided to achieve objectives.

An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students, but must not include duties of teaching as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor.

Supervision of students cannot be required except where it is an integral part of the employee¿s position or involves supervision of students individually or in small groups, in controlled circumstances, where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.

Responsibilities Job Description · Lead the ICT team, including the development of a positive team culture, and capacity building of team members.


  • Liaise with the Principal class team and Business Manager, in relation to all aspects of ICT and school requirements.
  • Provide advice to key stakeholders regarding best practice with regards to ICT operations across the school.
  • Commit to continuous improvement by seeking out opportunities to integrate new software, hardware, device management and service solutions throughout the College.
  • Effectively manage resources, including budgeting and ordering, consistent with school priorities and policy
  • Provide high level support to key stakeholders with regards to various software packages the Network Manager is accountable for
  • Work with College curriculum leaders to provide analysis of curriculum data to empower teachers to ensure students are meeting outcomes and expectations.
  • Manage and be accountable for all aspects of ICT infrastructure (networking, servers, hardware and software)
  • Develop and update written ICT policies, standards, procedures, or other documentation as required to support the activities of the ICT Team and wider staff.
  • Manage and deliver the College¿s student laptop program and the DET Staff notebook program Technical Knowledge The position involves the maintenance and ongoing growth of the colleges Curriculum network; therefore, an intermediate understanding of the following technologies would be advantageous:
  • Microsoft Directory Services o Active Directory on-premises o Group Policy
  • Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), including: o Software Packaging with Power Shell App Deployment Toolkit (PSADT) o Windows Server Update Services o Direct Access o Remote Desktop Gateway o Firmware and driver updates
  • Microsoft SQL Server configuration and maintenance
  • Microsoft Certificate Authority / PKI services
  • Mobile Device Management software, including: o Jamf Pro
  • Backup Software, such as a Veeam Backup and Replication
  • Strong Dell, HP, and Cisco switch configuration understanding, (including effective VLAN design)
  • Firewall technologies such as Forti Gate and pf Sense, and with a strong understanding of routing
  • Scripting languages such as Power Shell
  • Programming languages such as C#
  • Virtualisation Technologies such as Hyper-V and a strong understanding of Failover Clustering and Dell Direct Access Storage
  • Wireless Network Configuration (Cisco and Aruba)
  • CCTV software
  • Print Server and printer configuration Training Needs It is the Network Manager¿s responsibility to lead in the development of training materials and provide direction and assistance to other members of the ICT department in the delivery of said training.
