You could be one of our 2700 committed team members who are up to the challenge.

About the role

As the Manager of Network Control, you are integral to the success of V/Line's Operations Group.

The Manager of Network Control oversees approximately 100 direct reports, with some growth anticipated in the coming months. • Collaborate with the V/Line Safety Department and the Office of the National Rail Safety Regulator (ONRSR) to meet all legislative obligations.
  • Ensure compliance with V/Line's access and works readiness protocols, as well as the Victorian Book of Rules and Operating Procedures.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction and capability development of the division through business plans and initiatives.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in disruption management across the Operations function.
  • Provide guidance, resources, and support to external stakeholders to achieve divisional and functional goals.
  • Ensure the safe running of trains over the V/Line Rail network.
  • Foster strong relationships within the IOC including the IOC Duty Managers, Fleet Controllers, Customer Controllers, Fault Centre Officers, Asset Managers, Regional Managers, and other key stakeholders.

About you

This is an opportunity for an experienced people leader to lead within a dynamic team, contributing to the safe and efficient operation of V/Line's rail network. Join us in ensuring the best possible service for our customers and stakeholders.

Our ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Proven ability to lead large teams and provide direction, including to geographically dispersed teams.
  • Experience in managing strategic change, driving operational planning, and working in an industrial or unionised environment is highly advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Victorian Train Signalling Safeworking Systems (preferred but not essential)
  • As a resilient and adaptable leader, you can influence others across the organisation.
  • By engaging your team and building capabilities, continuous improvement and safety remain top priorities.
  • Demonstrated alignment with V/Line's values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership, and human rights.

In addition to free Myki travel, we offer:
