About the Role

As Platform Product Owner within the BOQ Group Retail Digital Bank ART (Agile Release Train), you will support the Groups digital banking ecosystem, overseeing the delivery of features across a multi-product environment that enables an industry leading digital banking experience.


This role will be responsible for strategising, planning and driving multiple technical initiatives, enabling and guiding the team along with fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to lead our product backlog for efficient delivery of the most important features to enhance both customer & banker experience of the Groups digital products and partner platforms.


You will be heavily involved in backlog refinement and contribution to program vision & roadmap, by dissecting initiatives into features and stories with support of your team in preparation for Program Increment planning.


Key responsibilities:

  • Contribute to program increment planning, aligning with the vision of the digital bank and transformation roadmap. Support content presentations and collaborating with the Scrum Master to plan team sprints and manage crossteam dependencies.
  • Actively participate in Standups, Sprint Planning, Retrospectives, Reviews, and Demoes/Showcases monitoring product delivery and evaluating/tracking benefits
  • Prioritise, own, and maintain the backlog ensuring visibility and alignment with customer and stakeholder expectations updating it based on evolving business requirements
  • Close collaboration with other Product Managers who need features to be delivered by the team, interacting with the broader BOQ group on initiatives and partnering with suppliers, championing a platform first culture focusing on stability and resilience of the digital banking ecosystem
  • Supports products that are used internally by the business along with products that sit across the common infrastructure and is involved in prioritisation of various work streams which include system enhancements and defects, lifecycle management, regulatory & compliance and greenfield initiatives
  • Support Business Governance activities of the Digital Bank partners
  • Foster enduring partnerships with our suppliers, with particular focus to deliver on bank priorities as a pivotal part of the role.

About you

  • Experience as a Technical Product Owner or prior experience in leading technical teams
  • Background in Payment, Banking or Financial services
  • Experience with Agile frameworks preferably within SAFe Agile (SAFe Product Owner certification a plus)
  • Strong coaching, consultation and negotiation skills with an ability to engage and influence external and internal stakeholders including senior management
  • Strong vendor partnership/management experience including leading governance practices
  • Strategic vision to understand short
- and long-term trade-offs across different products/systems

  • Strong facilitation skills
  • Selfmotivated and have great engagement skills enabling you to build strong connections with internal and external stakeholders
  • Exceptional communication skills, proactively communicating with other Product Managers, business process owners, technical leads and development / operational teams to understand changes to systems and/or processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to present actionable insights and plans
  • Ability to prioritise activities based on business needs and requirements.
