Job Description

Nine's People and Culture Team is deeply integrated within the Nine business. As genuine partners, we provide exceptional service, shaping both individuals and business strategy across all Nine assets.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone to cover a 12-month Parental Leave as a People & Culture (P&C) Business Partner, making a significant impact on business and financial results.

The P&C Business Partner will collaborate with Nine's Radio, Finance & Sales teams nationwide - developing and implementing people strategy across these three sectors, and overseeing all Learning & Development initiatives within the scope.

Engaging with our Talk Radio Stations 2GB, 3AW, 4BC, and 6PR, you will work directly with the Managing Director of Nine Radio and play a pivotal role on the Radio Leadership Team, crafting and executing people strategy for Nine Radio. Additionally, you will lead the People Strategy with our Finance Leadership team.

Moreover, this role is crucial in the Learning & Development of our National Sales Team. By supervising our Training Coordinator, you will be accountable for creating and executing a comprehensive range of learning content, modules, and programs to enhance team skills in alignment with business goals and strategy.

This opportunity suits a seasoned P&C Business Partner with prior experience in collaborating with Senior Executives and a keen interest in Learning & Development.

The ideal candidate will possess the capability to operate strategically, navigate through uncertainty and complexity, while also being willing to delve into the specifics when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Develop people strategies covering Sales, Radio & Finance in partnership with the Head of People and Culture, customized to individual business requirements
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders in Radio & Finance leadership to comprehend each unit's strategic challenges and design people strategies to facilitate the achievement of financial and business goals
  • Lead the design, creation, and implementation of Learning & Development programs across Sales (Sales Academy), craft learning content, identify external providers, and establish a learning framework aligned with Sales strategy and future skills enhancement
  • Develop and execute learning programs as needed across Finance & Radio, gaining support from senior stakeholders and driving engagement and integration
  • Initiate, manage, and execute key people initiatives across the organization, including Performance & Development plans, Leadership capabilities, Talent & Succession planning, Health & wellbeing programs, and Reward & Recognition initiatives
  • Offer daily guidance and support to People Leaders, providing coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions, while also having the ability to influence and challenge, fostering engagement within the sales teams
  • Foster engagement with business units through effective communication, regular updates, and listening strategies
  • Cultivate a high-performance culture by coaching leaders on performance management
  • Contribute positively to the development of an engaged and aligned Nine culture by exemplifying our Values and Behaviors
  • Collaborate with the broader People and Culture team to support company-wide initiatives alongside the Centers of Excellence, encompassing Leadership Development, Development Conversations, Employee Engagement, and Talent Acquisition initiatives

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience as a generalist HR Business Partner, working closely with senior stakeholders, Executives, and Leadership Teams
  • A solid ability to influence senior stakeholders to drive business outcomes, with the confidence to question decisions
  • Demonstrated expertise in delivering Learning & Development programs for large teams (experience with sales teams is advantageous)
  • Proficiency in transitioning between strategic planning and hands-on business partnering
  • Strong analytical capabilities with experience in generating reports and utilizing data sources to influence decisions
  • Proven problem-solving skills and adept at managing conflicting priorities among stakeholders with resilience and drive, showing a keenness to deliver results even in challenging situations
  • Knowledgeable in best practice people management, including employee relations, recruitment, reward systems, performance management, talent development, and engagement, with a track record in leading change initiatives and handling complex projects involving people
  • Resilient and driven individual with a passion for achieving results, even in demanding circumstances
  • Confident presenter and adept written communicator, capable of adjusting communication style to influence culture effectively
