Your Role as a Nurse:

As a seasoned Nurse, you are well-versed in patient care. In this position, you will elevate your expertise by tending to the needs of the Army in unique and demanding settings.

You will function in mobile health units, providing essential health services and immediate care on-site in a pre-hospital environment. Additionally, you may be deployed in a certified surgical field hospital, delivering comprehensive healthcare services during combat, peacekeeping, and humanitarian missions.

The Defence Force will equip you with all the essential military skills through leadership training at the Royal Military College – Duntroon in Canberra. The initial training spans 42 days.

Following the primary training phase, you will participate in various military programs to further hone your competencies. Within the first year of your appointment, you will also complete the Australian Defence Force Extended Practice Nursing (ADFEPN) Course.

Salary Information:

As part of the Army, you will receive a competitive salary starting from day one. Upon commencement, the potential annual earnings could reach $90,533, accompanied by attractive superannuation benefits.

Location:

After undergoing initial military training in Canberra and employment-related training in Victoria, you may be stationed at numerous sites across Australia. For Nurses, initial postings are typically in Brisbane, Darwin, and Townsville, with a variety of employment prospects spanning the country. While specific posting locations cannot be guaranteed throughout your service tenure, readiness to relocate is essential.

Experience Life in the Army:

Action, adventure, diverse career prospects, and invaluable camaraderie—all integral components of life in the Army. Whether you aspire to acquire new expertise, receive fully-funded training, or seek fresh challenges, the Army encompasses it all.

Furthermore, the gratification and pride derived from serving your nation and offering aid to communities in need, both domestically and internationally, are immeasurable.
