The role


The Queensland Government Accommodation Office (QGAO) centrally manages the largest office property portfolio in Queensland, with approximately 1 million square metres of office space, accommodating more than 60,000 public servants and a broad range of property assets including cyclone shelters, parks, bridges and heritage buildings.

Our Government Employee Housing (GEH) business unit, efficiently and actively manages a portfolio of approximately 3100 government employee housing residences to support the delivery of government services across Queensland.


You will report to the Principal Lease Manager and will assist in whole-of-Government lease procurement and lease management, including financial and tenancy management.


Key responsibilities:

  • Assist a leasing team to plan and deliver the supply of leased assets within the State Government's property portfolio.
  • Provide lease management advice concerning commercial leasing for the State Government's office property portfolio.
  • Support the delivery of executive or sensitive leasing projects and the provision of office accommodation for the Department.
  • Provide support to the updating of streamlined lease management, and tenancy and financial management systems.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
  • Assist with the implementation of the leased component of wholeofGovernment accommodation strategies.
  • Provide support with the development of policies, guidelines and systems for best practice office accommodation leasing use and implementation within areas of geographic and/or functional responsibility.
  • Provide timely support and assistance with research into advice on marketplace conditions and industry trends to contribute towards the development of WholeofGovernment Office Accommodation Strategic Plans.
  • Contribute to QGAO's responsibilities in supporting the Government Office Accommodation Committee and other executive committees in terms of property management, achieving best value for money, strategic asset management and benchmarking.
  • Negotiating and representing QGAO at intra departmental meetings.
  • Develop networks across the Department
  • Assist with the preparation of executive correspondence and briefing notes
