As the Operations Manager, you will join the Regional Leadership Group in a role that will shape the future of this region for years to come which will include connecting the best of GHD from across our business with local Northern NSW Clients across our Water, Transport, Energy, Resources, Property and Environmental markets.


This opportunity will see you take lead responsibilities with our projects and pursuits, and work with Business Group Leaders to consistently deliver strong client and commercial outcomes.

Responsibilities include:

Working with a diverse team of professionals, you will collaborate closely with Business Group Leaders, Market, Service and Technical Leads to ensure the collective region achieve KPI's that deliver outcomes aligned with GHD's strategy and business plan, additionally you will:

  • Be responsible for leading all aspects of project deliverables through close liaison with the BGL/Project Directors and key clients as needed.
  • Drive performance of the Business Groups through effective leadership, coaching and mentoring.
  • In collaboration with the Market Leaders, responsible for ensuring performance targets of their business groups are met, growing the business and identifying opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the team and regions, developing key client relationships and driving the GHD client experience.
  • Provide leadership that supports high levels of engagement, strong culture and GHD values.
  • Working closely with the Regional Leadership team to implement the Regional Business Plan.
  • Illustrating support and compliance with the requirements of the GHD Health and Safety Management System, Integrity procedures and Quality Management processes and systems.
  • Supporting the GHD Brand by building industry profile through activity with regional industry bodies and associations.
  • Work in conjunction with other Operations Managers to leverage business across the region.
  • Drive a mentoring and coaching culture to support our leaders in succession planning and developing our people.

What you will bring to our team:

  • Degree in Management, Engineering or related and relevant field
  • Extensive experience within a multidisciplinary infrastructure consulting environment
  • Demonstrated Leadership skills, developing, influencing and driving a high performance culture
  • Strong team collaboration skills, able to work across multidisciplinary teams and sectors
  • Highly developed communication skills, both verbal and written, open communication
  • Exceptional people relationship and networking skills, strong personal network and industry profile
  • Sound knowledge across Market Sector activities and client networks
  • Understanding of the Northern NSW Clients and markets
  • Strong judgement and decisiveness, bias for action
  • Ability to influence and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders
