Planning Team Lead - Your future position?

Reporting to:
Site Supply Chain Manager

Location:
Smithfield, Sydney


As Planning Team Lead, you will lead the raw material and production planning functions on site, optimizing end-to-end cycle times, inventory, site productivity and in compliance with EHS requirements to supply customers on time.


Core Responsibilities

Strategy Design & Execution

  • Provide daily direction to the planning team in a maketoorder environment to ensure materials and traded items are available and costeffective manner to meet production requirements and customer orders.
  • Administrative planning and procuring overseas materials with long lead times while maintaining target inventory holdings and minimizing material writeoff
  • Provide key raw material and production planning inputs to the regional Operations (D&S) plans and help design the local Operations and Supply Chain Planning strategiesand definition of related goals based on input provided by other site functions
  • Oversee the design and execution of tactical and operational plans at site level to meet local Operations objectives. Agree planning standards and levels with production mid
- to long-term and enforce schedule adherence

  • Work with the local Flavourist and Operations and Commercial in NPD; Formula transitions; AVAP's
  • Support shared services & Regional Planning initiatives, Continuous Improvement Projects & Cost Saving/Avoidance strategies

Subject Matter Expert

  • Maintain an optimal level of inventory and writeoffs that meets supply chain service level and cost objectives
  • Control that the responses to Customer Care are made
  • Oversee the development of short term material supply and capacity plans
  • Analyze planning performance and improve the KPI's by using best practices
  • Monitor and define actions to improve site planning performance indicators
  • Escalate issues for resolution of problems, complaints and order prioritization issues
  • Develop annual budget and expense control, and implement the annual operating plan accordingly
  • Monitor workload and calendars to maintain the balance within the team

People Management

  • Oversee and review the execution of annual human resources processes within the Site Planning team
  • Work with the local and regional Supply Chain and Operations as well as HR Business Partner(s) in developing a local talent pipeline
  • Drive the development and promotion of Planning talents within and outside Supply Chain and Operations

Professional Qualifications

  • Diploma/Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or related discipline
  • MBA or Master's Degree in a technical field is preferred
  • Minimum 5 years experience in manufacturing operations with background in supply chain planning, quality or materials management, including exposure to business process redesign and systems implementations
  • Minimum 2 years experience in people management

Technical Competencies

  • Knowledge in SAP/BI/BO is preferred
  • Expertise in ERP/MRP
  • Understanding of forecasting (statistical models)
  • APICS certification is desired
