Position Summary

As the Payroll Compliance & Project Specialist, you will work under the Payroll Manager, ensuring payroll processes adhere to laws and regulations while also participating in system projects to enhance payroll efficiency.

Job Duties/Essential Functions

  • Reconcile pay calculations between EBAs and awards for compliance.
  • Interpret modern awards and Costco employee agreements for payroll compliance.
  • Support stakeholders with payroll data extraction and interpretation.
  • Assist in end-to-end pay run processes and compliance documentation preparation.
  • Participate in system development and implementation activities.
  • Monitor legislative changes impacting payroll and workforce management.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Technology, or related field.

Experience/Skills

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in end-to-end payroll operations.
  • Ability to interpret awards and EBAs, preferably with retail industry experience.
  • Strong understanding of payroll regulations in Australia and New Zealand.
  • Experience in payroll and T&A system implementation projects.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
