Location: Perth CBD

Pay rate: $50-$55ph + Super

About the roles:

  • Ensure payroll complies with laws, agreements, and policies.
  • Process, reconcile, and remit authorised deductions accurately.
  • Reconcile Workers' Compensation payments and claims.
  • Perform year-end tax and superannuation reconciliation.
  • Maintain payroll procedures, controls, and documentation.
  • Reconcile ATO submissions and other accounts after each pay period.
  • Resolve payroll errors and improve processes.
  • Implement payroll system improvements based on analysis.
  • Maintain accurate payroll system configuration.
  • Test payroll system upgrades.
  • Ensure accurate employee data and records.
  • Maintain pay rates, leave entitlements, and award requirements.
  • Ensure accurate payroll coding and deductions.
  • Calculate backpay adjustments and tax correctly.
  • Submit PAYG and Single Touch Pay reconciliations on time.
  • Complete timely and accurate fortnightly EFTs.
  • Review monthly superannuation payments.
  • Verify and grant employee entitlements.
  • Process superannuation, Child Support, Health Funds, and Paid Parental Leave requests promptly.
  • Calculate and tax complex terminations accurately.
  • Perform end-of-month and year payroll tasks.
  • Calculate long service leave entitlements.
  • Maintain portable Long Service Leave records.
  • Distribute payroll reports.
  • Ensure accurate payroll data input and record maintenance.
  • Contribute to process improvements.
  • Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts.

Desirable Criteria for both roles

Tertiary qualification in Payroll, Finance or equivalent or equivalent demonstrated experience.

Experience working with online payroll software (especially Tech 1)

Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, with a demonstrated commitment on delivering exceptional customer service.

Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment to achieve outcomes.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to process data with a high level of accuracy within tight deadlines.

High level of attention to detail.

Previous experience in payroll processing and interpreting and applying relevant legislation and policies.

Ability to problem solve and analyse information to resolve issues.

Good interpersonal skills.

Strong numerical and verbal skills.

Current Police Clearance (within the preceding 3 months)
