The Core Manufacturing Crew is dedicated to delivering customer obsessed home buying solutions enabling Australians to achieve their home ownership goals, whilst having the most sophisticated risk and reward settings and ensuring responsible risk management.

The Core Product Strategy & Governance squad is accountable to define end-to-end core strategy to meet changing needs of customers on their home buying journey whilst also maintaining product integrity.

Do work that matters

You will have a dual reporting line to report to the Product Owner, Core Product Strategy & Governance squad and Product Solution & Management Chapter Lead to support with your performance and career development. As a Product Manager (in Senior Manager level), you will be accountable to deliver a clear product strategy and roadmap, a market leading customer value proposition, a safe and compliant product in line with the product design and distribution obligations.

You will continuously iterate and enhance the product features to create better outcomes and value for customer and stakeholders. You will move forward with less-than-perfect information, and quickly pivot to changing work demands, and possess the ability to accurately evaluate complex and ambiguous situations to reach timely, objective and informed decisions. You will influence others by communicating value with credibility and authority.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide advice and recommendations to Crew Lead & Product Owner on complex business issues, leveraging your experience and industry knowledge to guide decision-making
  • Participate in the quarterly business planning cycles, working with the Product Owner to support the prioritisation of the backlog and set delivery expectations; this includes regularly reviewing the extended backlog and completing supporting analysis for these items
  • Identifying risk, dependencies and issues for the squad and product, in line with excellent management of operational risk and compliance outcomes, uplifting and implementing controls (and supporting processes) where required
  • Present and prepare product papers and reports to various governance forums, senior stakeholders and leadership teams
  • Staying abreast of external market trends (from regulatory, economics to innovation) and assigned RIS Issues/Incidents (actions to close and upcoming due dates), ensuring that these are flagged for solution scoping within the relevant squads
  • Lead and execute multiple prioritised initiatives to achieve business outcomes
  • Use a data driven and collaborative approach to identify and deliver initiatives that search for and then solve business problems across multiple products
  • Identify, develop and drive product and process development opportunities that are customer centric, reduce risk and improve productivity throughout the portfolio
  • Apply your judgement and delivery experience to drive delivery in partnership with project and technical teams
  • Apply Business Acumen, Leadership, Change Management and Project Management experience to determine optimal approach in project execution.
We're interested in hearing from people who have:
  • Previous product management experience within financial services, specifically in Home Lending and the end-end processes
  • Previous risk management experience - managing issues, incidents and customer remediations
  • A proven track record of coaching and developing people
  • The ability to take a customer centric approach to solving complex and ambiguous problems
  • The ability to make quick decisions and remove blockers for the squad
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships
  • The ability to proactively identify and drive delivery tasks associated with an in-flight change
  • Strong planning and time management skills with the ability to deal with competing priorities and upcoming due dates
  • Demonstrated experience working in an Agile environment is preferred
