About the business and your team


The Home Buying team is responsible for end-to-end management of the Banks Home Loan business including distribution through proprietary and third-party channels, acquisition, retention, customer experience, risk, project and continuous improvement.


The Home Loan Product team has responsibility for the design and E2E management of home loan products and features including fixed, variable, lines of credit, Packages, Everyday Offset and MISA to ensure they are competitive, customer centric and meet regulatory and risk requirements.

As a Product Manager, you will play a key role in delivering enhancements and refinements to our product offerings to deliver on our Home Buying Strategy.

You will be a key contributor to managing our product portfolio in line with our policy, compliance, risk, pricing, and procedure requirements.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering on multiple pieces of work to ensure the product is market competitive and delivers value to customers.
  • Proactively managing change to continuously improve our product offering and processes in order to optimise the overall customer experience, market share, cost reduction and risk profile.
  • Reviewing customer painpoints in the product life cycle to identify and deliver customer experience improvement opportunities in the portfolio.
  • Developing a deep understanding of the portfolio to deliver the right outcomes for our customers.
  • Reviewing, coordinating and implementing product portfolio initiatives to drive optimal P&L performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Managing various other product BAU activities such as review product policy and procedures and deliver regular product reporting and insights.
  • Acting as point of escalation for product related incidents and customer complaints.
  • Partnering with Risk and Compliance to proactively identify and manage operational and other risks in the portfolio.

  • Strong risk mindset -All CommBank employees are expected to proactively identify and understand, openly discuss and act on current and future risks.
  • Previous experience in Product Management is highly regarded whilst knowledge of operations and compliance risk management or frameworks would be advantageous.
  • Experience in delivering multiple initiatives, projects or change management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and influencing skills and proven stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proven track record of driving results.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong planning and time management skills with the ability to deal with competing priorities.
