Parents' Voice is a movement of parents who are committed to improving the health and wellbeing of Victoria's children. Formerly known as The Parents' Jury, Parents' Voice was formed in 2004 and now represents thousands of parents.

Parents' Voice is currently undergoing an exciting period of refocusing and repositioning to respond to the current and emerging health issues for children.

Parents' Voice is supported by VicHealth.

Representing, and being engaged by the Parents Voice entity, The Manager, Parents Voice works closely with VicHealth team members, including the Manager, Policy & Government Relations, in order to develop, strengthen and maintain strong relationships with key collaborators.

You will be tasked with growing an active network of parents, ideally using your lived experience to champion children's wellbeing.

You will also work to ensure strong advocacy of the key messages of Parents' Voice to decision makers and government using policy submissions, documents, briefings, and media opportunities.

You'll possess excellent leadership skills, have a "can-do" attitude and be comfortable working in a dynamic and ever-changing environment. Your exceptional communication skills will also be highly valued.

Voice Tenure:
Part time (3 days per week), Fixed term (1 year)

Salary range:
$72-80K per annum at 3 days per week (Including casual loading) + Superannuation

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Relevant tertiary and post graduate qualifications, and extensive industry experience in campaign and or volunteer development and formulation at a senior levelHighly Desirable:
  • Experience working within government sectors
  • Lived experience as a parent
  • Demonstrable experience in a campaigning or organising role in an organisation, including the ability to build and maintain professional relationships
  • Media strategy and public speaking skills
  • Experience running training, information sessions and/or volunteer meetings
  • Strong demonstrable communication, negotiation, stakeholder management skills
  • Sound knowledge of health promotion concepts.
