How this position will Make the Difference to City of Melbourne
The Parenting Group Facilitator plans, delivers and evaluates playgroup programs and assists in the development and delivery of parent education programs and playgroups.
What you will bring(Selection criteria)
- Ability to demonstrate and display City of Melbourne Values accountability, integrity, courage, respect for self and others, and striving for excellence.
- A tertiary qualification to Diploma level in Early Childhood or another relevant qualification with extensive experience in working with young children under school age
- An excellent understanding of the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework and extensive knowledge of child development
- Experience in facilitating playgroups and providing programs and activities which support, foster and promote the learning of young children and positive parent/child interactions
- Ability to work innovatively and flexibly and independently manage time and set priorities to achieve objectives in an efficient and timely manner
- Good interpersonal and communication skills and a willingness to work effectively with diverse cultural, socioeconomic, language and ability groups within an integrated team model of service delivery.
