_Job Description_


We have multiple Grant management EL1 and APS6 roles with a growing focus on building deep ongoing relationships with state, territory and local governments, as well as key industry and research stakeholders and partner agencies across the Australian Government.


_What will you do?_


You will be well organised and demonstrate the ability to deliver results in an environment characterised by tight timeframes and changing circumstances and priorities.

You also have excellent written, verbal and numeric skills, and well-developed stakeholder management skills.

Your role will require you to undertake some of the following tasks - depending on which team you work in:

  • Assessing and overseeing the delivery of grants to which Australian Government funding has been committed, including by:
  • assessing project proposals
- managing approvals, agreements/contracts and projects variations
- participating in project governance, and
- reviewing communications products.
- establishing and providing ongoing management of financial allocations to our delivery partners for each project, including by managing milestone payments and organising movements of funds or transfers of funds where required, in conjunction with the Program, Financial Management and supporting IT systems;
- managing core administrative functions, such as the preparation of ministerial correspondence, briefs, implementation advice and media releases, with respect to projects and policy;

  • Building strong and constructive relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, both internal and external to the department, as well as across the branches. This includes organising and providing secretariat support to a number of intergovernmental, crossjurisdiction and ministerial meetings

We are looking for a strong leader and manager, preferably with program or grant management expertise or similar transferrable skills, who thrives working in a fast-paced, high-pressure small team environment.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Commitment to collaboration and positive engagement with multiple stakeholders
  • Lead and performance manage a small team, using initiative and judgement to achieve outcomes
  • Maintaining constructive working relationships with stakeholders including the ability to negotiate successful outcomes
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to construct a clear argument or direction
  • Deliver high quality work, requiring attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent prioritization skills to deliver timely results and manage priorities in a complex and dynamic environment
  • Experience with the management, assessment and delivery of grant programs is highly desirable
