The organisation
Our client, a well-established government department, is looking for multiple APS5 Grants Officers to join their team. The Division delivers a range of grant programs that deliver real-world benefits to communities and regions across Australia.

The role
Do you want to be part of a passionate team working on high-profile, high priority government grant programs?


We are seeking agile, self-motivated, and results-driven people to join a surge team to help deliver key programs and provide support that will be critical to the programs' success.


We have multiple non-ongoing positions at the APS5 level, where you will get to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment defined by high levels of engagement with, and service of, ministers' offices and a strong focus on quality outputs.


  • Analyse and assess project information against program guidelines and procedural documentation
  • Draft and negotiate routine funding agreements
  • Prepare briefs, correspondence and reports
  • Manage contractual relationships with proponents to ensure compliance
  • Assess and action variation requests, project progress and completion reports
  • Prepare payment recommendations and keep appropriate records
  • Maintain program and project records
  • Identify project risks and mitigation strategies
  • Work with team leaders to resolve complex issues and find innovative solutions.

Skills & Experience
To be considered for the position, you will need the following skills and experience:

  • Sound written and oral communication skills that appropriately considers the audience
  • Good, collaborative interpersonal and customer service skills in dealing with senior positions, colleagues and grant recipients
  • Ability to analyse information and draw sound conclusions based on evidence
  • Ability to prioritise and complete work within established procedures, using initiative when required
  • Responsibility for administering and ensuring contract and/or grant outcomes are managed and delivered
