Terminal Operations Coordinator
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated
Terminal Operations Coordinator to join our team. As part of the operations group, you will play a crucial role in managing all aspects of terminal-related operations.

Your focus will be on executing safe, reliable, and competitive operations, ensuring the secure delivery of products to meet customer needs, and supporting marketing efforts.


Key Responsibilities:

Incident and Injury-Free Performance:

  • Strive for excellence by achieving incidentfree and injuryfree operations.
  • Implement safety protocols and best practices to maintain a secure work environment.

Safe and Reliable Facility Operations:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations at the facility.
  • Ensure the terminal operates safely and reliably.
  • Coordinate regulatory inspections and compliance.

Support Strategic Infrastructure Projects:

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to support strategic infrastructure initiatives.
  • Contribute to the successful execution of projects.

Exceptional Customer Service:

  • Provide high levels of service to internal and external customers, resellers, business partners, and other terminal gate users.
  • Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly.

Compliance and Legislative Requirements:

  • Ensure compliance and other legislative requirements.
  • Stay informed about industry regulations and adapt operations accordingly.

Cost-Effective Asset Management:

  • Manage terminal assets efficiently to optimize costs.
  • Monitor expenditures and implement costsaving measures.

Stock Replenishment and Shipping Operations:

  • Coordinate stock replenishment and shipping activities.
  • Be prepared for overtime and weekend work as needed.

Additional Duties:

  • Fulfill any other reasonable duties assigned by the company.
  • Maintain Senior Permit Officer Accreditations.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Operations Management, Engineering, Logistics).
  • Proven experience in terminal operations or related fields.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to coordinate teams effectively.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance.
  • Excellent communication and problemsolving abilities.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Traderelated background or qualifications in the Fuel, Oil & Gas industry.
  • Exposure to ShiptoShore Operations, Dangerous Goods handling, project management, and Emergency response/management.

Knowledge and Skills:

Essential:
Knowledge of relevant industry operating and safety standards.

  • Good understanding of Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems.
  • Ability to work crossfunctionally for optimal enterprise outcomes.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Selfmotivation and ability to work unsupervised.

Desirable:

  • Effective communication with a wide range of key stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead and manage multiple work fronts.

About the Site:

  • The team is currently recruiting due to lean staffing.
  • A small team of 5 operators and an operations specialist operates the facility 24/7, 365 days a year.
  • Approximately 100 to 105 trucks visit daily to collect fuel.
  • Supply directly comes from the Sydney to Newcastle pipeline.
  • Terminal background preferred.
  • Trades background advantageous.
  • Proficient in writing permits.
  • Strong operations orientation, preferably with mechanical experience in the fuel or oil industry.
  • Manual tasks (e.g., testing products, water removal from fuel) will be part of the role.
  • Quick thinking and adaptability.
  • Training provided on specific operations.
  • Understanding of Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Relevant mining background beneficial.

Pay and Important Notes:

  • For the first three months, the pay will be the base wage during training.
  • Shift allowance is 25% of the base wage.
  • Covered under the Oil Refining and Manufacturing Award.

Additional Information:

  • Handling of diesel and petrol.
  • Authority to shut down the site when necessary.
  • Required to climb 16m tanks for valve checks and sample inspections.
  • Work alone during night shifts and weekends.

Work Schedule:

  • Rostered on a 28day cycle for 168 hours.
  • Eligible for overtime.
  • Varied weekly hours (e.g., 24 hours one week, 60 hours the next).
